Football Recap: Woodbridge Starts off Right with Win over Stafford + How To Watch

Woodbridge had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They enjoyed a cozy 54-40 victory over the Stafford Indians. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered a 34-25 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Marquece Sharpe was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 134 yards and three scores, and also picked up 46 receiving yards. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Caleb Tucker, who threw for 210 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 18 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of James Shaw III, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodbridge will square off against Gainesville at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th. As for Stafford, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Unity Reed at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th.
