Basketball Game Preview: Springfield Senators vs. Hersey Huskies

Springfield is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Hersey is on a five-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Springfield Senators will finish 2024 at home by hosting the Hersey Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Monday, Springfield was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 54-53 to East St. Louis.

Meanwhile, the stars were shining brightly for Hersey in a 63-49 win over Buffalo Grove on Friday. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Bison are ranked 421st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Springfield now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Hersey, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.
