Softball Preview: Munday Moguls vs. Harrold Hornets
Munday is 0-3 against Harrold since March of 2024 but things could change on Saturday. The Moguls will head out on the road to square off against the Hornets at 12:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Munday took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Northside 7-6. The victory was some much needed relief for the Moguls as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, Harrold played in-conference for the first time on Tuesday and got just the result they were looking for. They walked away with a 13-10 win over Knox City. With that victory, the Hornets brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.
Mylie Maness made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and six unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Abrianna Albineda was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Saydee Duncan was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Munday's record is now 3-7. As for Harrold, their record now sits at 2-5.
