Baseball Recap: Box Elder Comes Up Short

Box Elder dropped to 6-13 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 21-6 to the Clearfield Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, with their most recent defeat being a 17-10 loss on Thursday.

Bryson Wight made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Box Elder's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 3-12 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Kohler, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

As for Clearfield, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

On Clearfield's side, the team relied heavily on Elijah Rosario, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those four runs gave Rosario a new career-high. Brodie Deal was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
