Football Game Preview: Broken Bow Savages vs. Glenpool Warriors

For the first time this season, Broken Bow will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. After each having a week off, they and the Glenpool Warriors will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Broken Bow has three straight wins, Glenpool has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Broken Bow had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 35-point drubbing they dealt Idabel two weeks ago. The Savages simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Warriors 49-14. The Savages pushed the score to 42-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Warriors cut but never quite recovered from.

Jattairrius Neal had a dynamite game, rushing for 159 yards and two scores on only 15 carries, while also picking up 86 receiving yards and one touchdown. Another player making a difference was Greydon Howell, who threw for 215 yards and three TDs.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Glenpool's offense. They had to suffer through a 57-0 loss at the hands of Pryor. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 170th, while the Tigers are ranked 47th).

Broken Bow's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Glenpool, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Everything came up roses for Broken Bow against Glenpool in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 51-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Savages since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
