Softball Recap: Bradley-Bourbonnais Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

Bradley-Bourbonnais won the last time they faced Morris and things went their way on Saturday too. The Boilermakers walked away with a 7-2 win over the Redskins. That's two games straight that the Boilermakers have won by exactly five runs.

Lydia Hammond made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Bella Pusateri and Abbie Hofbauer did most of the damage at the plate: Pusateri scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Hofbauer scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Olivia Woolman, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Bradley-Bourbonnais' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Morris, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.

Coming up, Bradley-Bourbonnais will square off against Seneca at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Fighting Irish will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Boilermakers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Morris, they will take on Princeton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
