It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Somerset had no problem doing just that on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Unity Eagles a 9-0 shutout. Considering Somerset have won 11 matchups by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Unity with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Xavier Roll (5), Max Cochran (3), and Josh Albert.

Somerset is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-2-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 68 goals over those 15 contests. As for Unity, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-12-1.

Looking ahead, Somerset will face off against Baldwin-Woodville at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Unity does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
