Football Recap: Grace Prep Comes Up Short

Grace Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 36-10 to the Brook Hill Guard. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Guard apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Ben Staneart threw for 103 yards and a touchdown. Jacob Wambsgnass was his top target, picking up 33 receiving yards. On the ground, Bryce Prince rushed for 90 yards.

Grace Prep's record now sits at 1-6. As for Brook Hill, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grace Prep will venture away from home to challenge Regents at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Regents knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Grace Prep likes a good challenge. As for Brook Hill, they will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Tomball Christian HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. Brook Hill will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
