Rivera dropped their record down to 18-5 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's ten-game streak of wins. They lost 11-4 to the Weslaco East Wildcats. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Raiders, who until this matchup were averaging 2.04 runs allowed.

As for Weslaco East, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 17-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by seven runs or more this season.

For Weslaco East's part, James Abrego made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Abrego has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Jayden Del Villar was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Eduardo Hernandez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

While Rivera had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
