Basketball Game Preview: Holy Family Tigers vs. Erie Tigers

Holy Family is 9-1 against Erie since January of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Holy Family Tigers will square off against the Erie Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Holy Family is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.4 points per game this season.

Holy Family is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Monarch just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 47-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coyotes. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

The losing side was boosted by Gracie Ward, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 13 points and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexcia Oaxaca, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Erie also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Overland by a score of 49-41. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Erie's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Holy Family, their loss ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2.

Everything went Holy Family's way against Erie when the teams last played back in January of 2022, as Holy Family made off with a 57-32 victory. In that matchup, Holy Family amassed a halftime lead of 31-10, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
