Volleyball Recap: Steele Canyon Cougars vs. Santana Sultans

Steele Canyon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Santana Sultans. The Cougars were not able to make up for their loss to the Sultans from their previous meeting back in April of 2022.

While Steele Canyon ultimately came up short, they really made Santana work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-22, 26-24, 18-25, 25-17.

Leading Santana to victory were Elliot Hoagland and Tai Molina. Hoagland had 16 digs, while Molina had 12 digs and two aces. Those 16 digs gave Hoagland a new career-high.

Steele Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Santana, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 4-5.

Steele Canyon has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Valhalla on the 18th. As for Santana, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against El Cajon Valley on the 18th.
