Baseball Recap: Yosemite Wins Going Away Against Riverdale

After low-scoring totals in their previous three game, Yosemite brought some dynamite into their most recent match. Everything went their way against the Riverdale Cowboys on Monday as they made off with a 10-3 win. The Badgers have beaten the Cowboys the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cowboys has come to flipping the script.

Thomas Raines was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

Raines wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brady Olson, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases Olson has posted since back in May of 2024.

Yosemite's record now sits at 9-12. As for Riverdale, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-13.

Yosemite didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-2 loss against Liberty on the 29th. As for Riverdale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-0 defeat against Fowler on the 29th.
