Basketball Recap: East Poinsett County's Run of Five Straight Wins Now Over

It was a good run, but East Poinsett County unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell to the Earle Bulldogs 69-63. The Warriors were probably out for revenge after losing 47-42 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

East Poinsett County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jacob Gaines, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds, and Tyrus Reel, who posted 15 points. Gaines' evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

East Poinsett County suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 9-3. As for Earle, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

East Poinsett County will face off against Marmaduke at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Earle, they will challenge Ridgefield Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Earle has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 193 points over their last three matches.
