Baseball Recap: Long Beach Snags Sixth Win in Last Eight Games

Long Beach hadn't done well against Picayune recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Bearcats came out on top against the Maroon Tide by a score of 5-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Dax Arkin was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Long Beach has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-13 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Picayune, they dropped their record down to 20-8 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

As of now, neither Long Beach nor the Maroon Tide have any future games scheduled.
