Softball Game Preview: Silverado Hawks vs. Moreno Valley Vikings

The Silverado Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Moreno Valley Vikings at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Silverado can't be to happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Tuesday. They fell just short of Lancaster by a score of 8-6.

Alex Valdez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Janaeh Silva was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Moreno Valley came up short against Colton on Monday, falling 13-6.

Mia Licon was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Marissa Martinez, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Silverado skirted past Moreno Valley 5-4 in their previous meeting back in May of 2016. The rematch might be a little tougher for Silverado since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
