Baseball Game Preview: Jimtown Jimmies vs. Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger Saints

The Jimtown Jimmies will square off against the Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger Saints at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Jimtown has three straight wins, Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Jimtown gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They won by a run and slipped past Concord 2-1.

Meanwhile, Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger suffered their closest defeat since June 8, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Fort Wayne Snider by a score of 4-2.

Finn Moilanen was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in May of 2024.

Jimtown's victory bumped their record up to 18-6. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, their loss dropped their record down to 19-7.

Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Jimtown has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
