Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mars). They blew past the Armstrong River Hawks 9-1 on Tuesday. Given Mars' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Armstrong are ranked 422nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Mars and bumps their season record up to 6-3-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-12 Armstrong and 3-10 Kiski Area. As for Armstrong, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mars will face off against rival Shaler Area at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Armstrong is set to square off against their familiar foe Kiski Area at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
