Knightdale is 0-8 against Millbrook since April of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Knights will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Having struggled with nine losses in a row, Knightdale turned things around against South Garner on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Titans. The Knights not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 28th.

Taybron Simpson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Simpson was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).
In other batting news, Knightdale let Maximo Jimenez and Manley Cosper run wild. Jimenez got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI, while Cosper scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Jimenez has posted since back in March of 2024. Gary Rodriguez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Knightdale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They are 3-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Millbrook beat Garner 14-11 on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.
Reece Kuhns tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over 5.2 innings pitched.
At the plate, Jack Strom was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Jake Schoch, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Knightdale's victory bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Millbrook, their win bumped their record up to 15-6.
