Football Game Preview: Pueblo Warriors vs. Sahuarita Mustangs + How To Watch

The Pueblo Warriors will square off against the Sahuarita Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Pueblo comes in on five and Sahuarita on three.

Pueblo's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They breezed past Rio Rico to the tune of 36-0. Considering the Warriors have won four matchups by more than 35 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The critical scores for Pueblo came from Roman Otero, Fernando Garcia, Jeremiah Sandoval, Andray Rodriguez, and Andrew Armenta.

Pueblo didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Anthony Sanchez and Alexander Villa.

Meanwhile, Sahuarita earned a 34-21 win over Empire on Friday. The Mustangs pushed the score to 27-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Ravens cut but never quite recovered from.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Axel Burgos and Trent Hubble. Burgos rushed for 48 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Hubble gained 95 total yards and a touchdown. Hubble didn't just play on offense: he also made eight total tackles and defended one pass.

Sahuarita's run defense was locked in: Empire could only muster 1.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Nathaniel Gallardo for the heroic effort on defense: he. Sahuarita's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 2.8.

Pueblo's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Sahuarita, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Everything came up roses for Pueblo against Sahuarita in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, as the squad secured a 44-0 victory. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
