Softball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Westside's Tenth in Last 11 Outings

Westside barely beat Easley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rams never let the Green Wave get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Thursday. Considering the Rams have won ten matches by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Madison Gray made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Westside got a massive performance out of Jazelyn Robinson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple. Savanna Branch was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs.

Westside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Westside has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Easley, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-12.

Westside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Easley, they will head out to square off against Greenwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
