Baseball Game Preview: Coronado Islanders vs. El Capitan Vaqueros

The Coronado Islanders will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the El Capitan Vaqueros at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Coronado is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They fell 8-5 to Bonita Vista on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, El Capitan gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They skirted past University City 5-4.

Seth Walker was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2025.

Coronado beat El Capitan 5-0 when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Will the Islanders repeat their success, or do the Vaqueros have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
