It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Coronado had no problem doing just that on Friday. They never let the Cooper Cougars get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-7 back in February.

Cooper's batters probably weren't too happy with Isaiah Vazquez, who pitched a no hitter and racked up eight Ks (he gave up two walks).

On the hitting side, Coronado's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Trevino, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Campbell Stanek also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Coronado has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 21-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cooper, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-10.

Coronado will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
