Basketball Game Preview: Midtown Knights vs. Pace Academy Knights

The Midtown Knights will venture away from home to face off against the Pace Academy Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Midtown is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Jackson on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Midtown lost 64-42 to Jackson. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-11.

Meanwhile, Pace Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Seminoles, posting a 78-34 win. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 22 points or more this season.

Pace Academy's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-4. As for Midtown, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-7.

Midtown took a serious blow against Pace Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 77-39. Can Midtown avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
