Recap: Heritage Generals vs. Sonoraville Phoenix
On Friday, The Heritage Generals''s game was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Sonoraville and snuck past 22-19. Heritage didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.
The critical scores for Heritage came from Evan Wingrove, Max Owens, and Jc Armour.
When it comes to explaining why Sonoraville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jaxon Pate. Despite the final result, he threw for 171 yards and two touchdowns.
Heritage's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Sonoraville, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heritage will take on Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Heritage likes a good challenge. As for Sonoraville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Southeast Whitfield County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Southeast Whitfield County comes in on a streak of failing to score more than zero points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
