Basketball Game Preview: Southwest Roughriders vs. Arapahoe Warriors

Southwest is 8-2 against Arapahoe since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Southwest Roughriders will welcome the Arapahoe Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Southwest is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

Southwest will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Alma, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Southwest came out on top against Alma by a score of 45-36 on Tuesday.

Kyra Nelms was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aspen Billeter, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds.

Southwest smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in nine consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 68 points the game before, Arapahoe was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They took a 29-18 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wilcox-Hildreth. The match marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

With the defeat, Arapahoe broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2. As for Southwest, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
