Baseball Recap: Rio Americano's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Rio Americano barely beat Franklin the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Rio Americano was the clear victor by a 9-2 margin over Franklin on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Raiders sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Will Parilo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 1-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, JT Alberghini was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February. Lincoln Dorway was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Rio Americano's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-7. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rio Americano will face off against Woodland Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Franklin, they will challenge Stagg at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Stagg's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Franklin's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
