Soccer Game Preview: Canutillo vs. Jefferson

The Canutillo Eagles will take on the Jefferson Silver Foxes at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Canutillo's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Canutillo's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over Chapin.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Jefferson's offense. They came up short against El Paso on Saturday, falling 8-0. Jefferson haven't had much luck with El Paso recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

The victory got Canutillo back to even at 9-9-1. As for Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 3-16-1.

Canutillo got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in February against Jefferson by a conclusive 5-1 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Silver Foxes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
