Baseball Recap: Renaissance Find Success

Renaissance came out on top against Harper Woods on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Phoenix took their matchup against the Pioneers 9-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-4 on Saturday.

The win made it two in a row for Renaissance and bumps their season record up to 11-8. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Harper Woods, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Renaissance will head out to face off against Communication Media Arts at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Harper Woods, they will square off against Avondale at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pioneers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Yellowjackets have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
