Softball Recap: Monument Valley Victorious

While Monument Valley's victory against Tuba City wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mustangs had just enough and edged out the Warriors 14-13 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won eight in a row.

Blu Peterman made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Peterman was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Hailey Etsitty was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Meya-Raye Bahe, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Monument Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Monument Valley's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Tuba City, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Monument Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 4-0 defeat against Page on the 3rd. As for Tuba City, they have also already played their next contest, a 32-2 loss against Show Low on the 2nd.
