Basketball Game Preview: Riverton Wolverines vs. Mountain View Buffalos

The Riverton Wolverines will take on the Mountain View Buffalos in a holiday battle at 4:20 p.m. on Thursday. Riverton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.2 points per game this season.

Riverton was handed a 20-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Worland 52-49. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Riverton had a senior duo take command as Garrett Jackson dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds and Beau Anderson posted 12 points and six boards. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for Jackson. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Treber, who had seven points.

Meanwhile, Mountain View came up short against Little Snake River on Friday and fell 66-54.

Riverton's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Riverton came up short against Mountain View in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 49-43. Can the Wolverines avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
