After a string of three wins, Apache Junction's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Coolidge Bears by a score of 6-5. The Prospectors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 13-3.

Dylan Blackwood and Rhett Ruiz stepped up to the plate in a big way. Blackwood went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Ruiz scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. That home run was Blackwood's first of the season.

Apache Junction's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Coolidge, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Apache Junction will take on Valley Christian at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Prospectors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season. As for Coolidge, they will challenge Tanque Verde at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
