Volleyball Recap: River Ridge Falls Short Against Ranked Hewitt-Trussville

River Ridge is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Hewitt-Trussville. The Knights fell 2-0 to the Huskies.

Despite the defeat, River Ridge had strong showings from Olivia Philpot, who had nine digs and two assists, and Gersey Codiniera, who had six digs and two assists. Gracie Lovelace also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

River Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Hewitt-Trussville, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

River Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Creekview on the 9th. Hewitt-Trussville has also already played their next match (against Hoover), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
