For the first time this season, Providence Grove will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. After each having a week off, they and the West Davidson Dragons will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Providence Grove will be strutting in after a win while West Davidson will be coming in after a loss.
Providence Grove will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up three points on September 12th, then bounced right back against Jordan-Matthews last Friday. The Patriots blew past the Jets 47-8. That 39 point margin sets a new team best for the Patriots this season.

Jackson Lawver and Nick Straughn were among the main playmakers for Providence Grove as the former rushed for 85 yards and two scores and the latter rushed for 106 yards and one TD. The dominant performance also gave Lawver a new career-high in passer rating (138.7).
Providence Grove's run defense was locked in: Jordan-Matthews could only muster 1.9 yards per carry. The team can thank Conner Haithcock for the heroic effort on defense: he. Providence Grove didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.6.
Providence Grove's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for five sacks. Jordan-Matthews' QB won't forget Haithcock anytime soon given he sacked him three times. Providence Grove received some extra help from Straughn, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, West Davidson unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak last Friday. They lost to Mount Pleasant on the road by a 38-20 margin.
Providence Grove will have to contain Carson Correll as he made an impact in West Davidson's last game. He rushed for 65 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 96 yards and one TD.
Providence Grove now has a winning record of 3-2. As for West Davidson, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-2.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Providence Grove has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 160.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like West Davidson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 190.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
