Baseball Game Preview: Dover-Sherborn Raiders vs. Bellingham Blackhawks

The Dover-Sherborn Raiders will square off against the Bellingham Blackhawks at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Dover-Sherborn lost 10-4 to Norwood on Wednesday. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Dover-Sherborn saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Clark, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Bellingham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hopkinton. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Payton Young was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits.

Bellingham's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Dover-Sherborn, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Dover-Sherborn was able to grind out a solid win over Bellingham in their previous matchup back in March, winning 6-2. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blackhawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
