Basketball Game Preview: St. Mary's-Colgan Panthers vs. Girard Trojans

St. Mary's-Colgan is 1-9 against Girard since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The St. Mary's-Colgan Panthers will head out to square off against the Girard Trojans at 7:15 p.m. St. Mary's-Colgan will be strutting in after a victory while Girard will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Tuesday, St. Mary's-Colgan beat Frontenac 48-38. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Meanwhile, Girard was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 52-46 to Fort Scott. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Mary's-Colgan's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-5. As for Girard, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6-2.

St. Mary's-Colgan suffered a grim 50-29 defeat to Girard in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can St. Mary's-Colgan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
