The May River Sharks will square off against the Benedictine Cadets at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. May River is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, May River needed a bit of extra time to put away Savannah Athletic Association. They had just enough and edged out the Jaguars 7-6.

Micah Morgan was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jorden Reid, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Benedictine had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Phoenixes a 9-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Cadets, who have now won 14 matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Benedictine's win bumped their record up to 24-5. As for May River, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.
