Basketball Recap: Belmont Takes a Loss

Belmont played a tough match on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Cincinnati College Prep Academy Lions, falling 51-20. The Bison's defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Mashayla Valentine was Belmont's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Ashlynn Cox held things down on the boards with four rebounds.

Belmont's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Cincinnati College Prep Academy, with the win, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-1.

Belmont and Waite will round out the year against one another at at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Belmont is facing Waite at the right time seeing as Waite is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Cincinnati College Prep Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Shroder Paideia Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
