Football Game Preview: Moses Brown Quakers vs. East Providence Townies

Two dominant signal callers in Gavin Marsh and Jacob Duarte are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Moses Brown Quakers will venture away from home to face off against the East Providence Townies at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Moses Brown is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Westerly, who was ranked sixth at the time (Moses Brown was ranked 18th). The Quakers were dealt a 42-14 defeat at the hands of the Bulldogs on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Quakers in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Although Moses Brown took the loss, they still got scores from Elijah Bento and Eric Jeffreys.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three contests, East Providence finally came back down to earth on Saturday. They took a 21-6 bruising from South Kingstown. The Townies gained 126 more yards on the day, but it was the Rebels that made the best use of them.

Moses Brown will have to contain Isaac Rodriguez as he made an impact in East Providence's last game. He rushed for 85 yards and one score on only 12 carries, and also picked up 84 receiving yards.

Moses Brown's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for East Providence, the loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 4-3.

Moses Brown was dealt a bruising 48-0 defeat at the hands of East Providence in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Duarte, who rushed for 35 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 80 yards and a pair of TDs on only five passes.
