Soccer Game Preview: Kankakee vs. Bloom

Kankakee is 2-8 against Bloom since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Kays are taking a road trip to take on the Blazing Trojan at 4:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Kankakee sitting on four straight wins and Bloom on eight.

Kankakee's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Rich Township 7-0. The result was nothing new for Kankakee, who have now won six games by four goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Bloom got the win against Momence on Tuesday by a conclusive 9-0. Bloom are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the eighth match they've won by 3+ goals this season.

Kankakee pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those four contests. As for Bloom, their victory bumped their record up to 17-2.

Kankakee skirted past Bloom 2-1 in their previous matchup back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Kays since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
