San Elizario is 9-1 against Fabens since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (San Elizario has five straight victories, Fabens has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, San Elizario made easy work of Mountain View and carried off a 9-1 win.
Karla Ramirez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up 13 Ks.

At the plate, Victoria Fernandez was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Caylee Venegas was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
San Elizario was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Fabens took on Clint on Friday. The Wildcats lost 17-11 to the Lions. Even if the Wildcats couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Soly Burgess and Marina Ortiz did some serious damage despite the final result: Burgess scored two runs and stole eight bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances, while Ortiz scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Ortiz also put up two RBI, which were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ailani Ramirez, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
San Elizario pushed their record up to 10-17-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Fabens, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.
San Elizario took their win against Fabens in their previous meeting last Friday by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
