Basketball Game Preview: Leon Lions vs. Mosley Dolphins

The Leon Lions will square off against the Mosley Dolphins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Leon will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Leon is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with an 81-70 win over Chiles on Friday. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Lions were down 40-26 in the second quarter.

Leon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alphonza Gammons, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine boards. Those 23 points gave Gammons a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aaron Pensel, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 20 points.

Leon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 13 consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mosley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They managed a 53-49 win over South Walton on Thursday.

Leon is also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points per game. As for Mosley, they pushed their record up to 11-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Leon suffered a grim 69-45 defeat to Mosley in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Leon was down 41-21.
