Baseball Preview: Valley Meets Green River

Valley has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Green River Pirates at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Green River has given up an average of 15.5 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Valley is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 24 runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against Panguitch on Wednesday. They came up short against the Bobcats, falling 14-1.

Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Holden Harris, who went 1-for-2 while posting 1 RBI.

Even though they lost, Valley pitchers prevented the big hits and finished the game with no home runs allowed. They have not allowed that few home runs since the 22nd, when they also allowed zero home runs.

Meanwhile, Green River came up short against Bryce Valley on Wednesday and fell 15-11.

Brohdy O'Keefe was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 while posting 4 RBIs, 2 runs, and 1 walk. The four RBIs were his most this season.

Green River has traveled a rocky road this season, having lost 11 of their last 12 matchups. That leaves them at a 1-10 record this season. As for Valley, they have now lost three of their last four games at home. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.
