Baseball Recap: Monument Valley Comes Up Short

Monument Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Window Rock Fighting Scouts. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Fighting Scouts this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-6 on Thursday.

Zephanario Smith and Roque Todacheene stepped up to the plate in a big way. Smith went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI, while Todacheene went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Todacheene is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Smith, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Monument Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Window Rock, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-11.

Monument Valley has already played their next match, a 13-3 loss against Tuba City on the 21st. As for Window Rock, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-3 defeat against Ganado on the 21st.
