Baseball Recap: Lapel Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Lapel lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Madison-Grant, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's contest. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Argylls with a sharp 11-1 win on Tuesday. Considering the Bulldogs have won three matches by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Darl Gustin, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was AJ Nunley, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Lapel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .516 or higher in three consecutive games.

Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Madison-Grant, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
