Soccer Game Preview: Adams vs. Seagoville

The Adams Cougars will take on the Seagoville Dragons at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Adams' defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Spruce, sneaking past 1-0. The Cougars' winning goal came courtesy of Alyson Reyes.

Meanwhile, Seagoville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against Poteet, falling 10-0. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 658th, while the Pirates are ranked 247th).

The victory made it two in a row for Adams and bumps their season record up to 4-1-1. As for Seagoville, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8-1.

Adams took their win against Seagoville in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0. Will Adams repeat their success, or does Seagoville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
