Flag Football Recap: Brawley Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Brawley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They managed a 13-7 victory over the Calexico Bulldogs on Monday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Wildcats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 251st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 115th).

Brawley pushed their record up to 9-10-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.0 points over those games. As for Calexico, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Brawley is set to take on their familiar foe Imperial at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Wildcats 11, the Tigers 11.4) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Calexico will square off against rival Southwest EC at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
