Softball Game Preview: Murfreesboro Rattlers vs. Mount Ida Lions

The Murfreesboro Rattlers are taking a road trip to square off against the Mount Ida Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Murfreesboro has given up an average of 11.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Murfreesboro lost 18-5 to Cutter-Morning Star on Monday.

Natalie Perrin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was her first of the season. Reid Spradlin was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Mount Ida came up short against Danville on Thursday, falling 13-5. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Murfreesboro's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Mount Ida, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Murfreesboro took their win against Mount Ida in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 20-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rattlers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
