Marblehead is a perfect 10-0 against Winthrop since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Magicians will challenge the Vikings at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Marblehead has four straight victories, Winthrop has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

While Marblehead's win against Boston Latin Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Magicians skirted past the Dragons 1-0.

Meanwhile, Winthrop didn't have quite enough to beat Hamilton-Wenham Regional on Saturday and fell 9-8.

Deanna Nee was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Whitehead, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Marblehead's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Winthrop, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.

Everything went Marblehead's way against Winthrop in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Marblehead made off with a 14-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Magicians since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
