Recap: Vina Red Devils vs. Belgreen Bulldogs
The Vina Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 56-33 loss at the hands of Belgreen. While losing is never fun, Vina can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 363rd, while Belgreen is ranked 153rd).
Several Red Devils players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaley Attaway, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Hester, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Vina has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Belgreen, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-5.
Vina will head out on the road to face off against Cullman Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Belgreen, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hackleburg at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hackleburg will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
