Basketball Recap: Bowie's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Friday

Bowie won the last time they faced Austin and things went their way on Friday too. The Bowie Bulldogs took down the Austin Maroons 57-40. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while the Maroons are ranked 701st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bowie is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 18-14 record this season. As for Austin, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-21.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Lake Travis the next time they take the court. Austin will head out to face Lake Travis at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Bowie will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th.
